Services Page Below are some descriptions of our more commonly used therapies. A typical office visit includes many of these therapies and takes 30-45 minutes. |
Function-based adjustments A functional adjustment addresses how the parts of your body (muscles, joints, and nerves) work together, so your body recovers faster and works better when you are using your body the way it was designed to be used.
Functional core strength training – in office Core strength training based on an understanding of both anatomy and function leads to more comprehensive training, greater safety, and faster improvement in both strength, and function. Being trained by a chiropractor who understands the underlying problems both anatomically and functionally leads to more effective training and, therefore, faster and more significant results.
Stress management We help you identify the specific things in your life that trigger the stress (fight-or-flight) response and teach you simple techniques to handle that stress. Science has proven that stress goes far beyond causing shoulder and back pain, but also affects most aspects of your health including your immune system, mood, and heart health. The hormones your body produces when we are in times of stress have serious affects on our bodies and it has now been proven that learning to control our stress levels can have tremendous benefits in avoiding things like heart disease, recurrent colds and flu, and digestive problems.
Postural training We find the root cause of your bad posture and design a customized program to correct the weaknesses and imbalances in your muscles, joints, and nerves leading to your bad posture. Usually the first complaint someone has from poor posture is muscle and joint pain that becomes a constant nuisance throughout the day, possibly causing headaches or even numbness in the hands. The reality is that poor posture is a learned behavior that began long before the pain ever started and requires simple neurologic retraining for any long term results to be achieved. As the training re-teaches your body what good posture is we are also building up the endurance of your muscles so they are able to hold your new posture throughout your day and take the stress and pressure off your spine.
Complimentary therapies Heat/Ice – used to help control inflammation in your body. Inflammation is a natural part of healing, but it must be controlled to avoid buildup of scar tissue leading to chronic problems.
Assisted Stretching – Increases the flexibility and coordination of your muscles. Having someone who knows the specific anatomy of each individual muscle allows for more effective stretching and greater results.
Cold Laser – Decreases the length of time you will be in pain. The energy from the infrared laser is absorbed by your cells increasing their ability to do work, therfore speeding up the healing and repair process. You will be able to get back to doing the things you enjoy sooner. Massage therapyWhether by itself, or done in tandem with your adjustments, massage therapy will relax muscles, stimulate bloodflow, remove scar tissue, and speed up the overall healing process.
